Thank you for
your interest in country dance!!!
Our next session will begin on October 26, 2008
and runs for six consecutive weeks through the last Sunday in November. If
you are interested in signing up for this session you will need to be at the
American Legion Post by 4:45 if you wish to start with the line dance session
and by 5:45 if you are only going for the Couples I class. You do NOT need
to have a partner to participate in Couples I as there are almost always male
and female dancers available to dance with. These classes begin at 5:00
and 6:00 respectively.

New Member Information
1.
Membership and Couples I Class
- The cost of the
six-week basic session is $30.00 per person. This is a one-time fee for a
lifetime membership.
- The basic class
consists of six sessions held from 6:00 to 7:30 PM. The seventh week we
have a potluck supper and open dance. During the next basic classes you
will have the opportunity to learn waltz, triple step, west coast swing and
cha cha
- All new members must
attend four of the six classes, with one of those being week one or week two
to graduate. No one will be allowed to begin classes after week two. If
you don’t fulfill these requirements, you will be allowed to take the basic
class again at no charge.
- At graduation you
will receive a diploma and a name badge, which entitles you to participate
in intermediate and advanced classes.
2.
Other Opportunities for Dancers new to our club
- Line/Pattern dance
classes are from 5:00 P. M. to 6:00 P. M. Participation by beginners is
usually allowed and encouraged, but may be up to the instructor depending on
the level of the dance taught.
3. Beyond
Beginning Classes
- Couples II (Intermediate
to advanced) classes are taught from 7:30 P. M. until 9:00 P. M. All eight of
the dances taught at the club will be presented during this time period with
an emphasis on advancing the dancer beyond the basic steps and patterns
taught in the Couples I class.
- You may repeat the
basic class, as many times as you wish, must of us do. However, once you
graduate, a “foot fee” of $3.00 per night per person is charged to help pay
for the building rental and equipment maintenance.
We hope you will continue
attending classes after you finish basics. MWCC belongs to its members and is
operated entirely by volunteers.
Along with our teaching,
we also lead a very active social life. We have club nights out on a regular
basis at various locations around the area, a summer picnic; float trips and
other activities as the membership desires and supports.
It is our sincere wish
that you would become a regular attending member and help us spread the joy of a
fun and healthy activity known as COUNTRY WESTERN DANCING!
